The Story Behind
A report from the UConn Rudd Center for Food Policy & Obesity read that sweetened drinks made up 62% of children's drink sales in 2018, and that 1 in 3 of all fruit drinks contained 16 grams or more of sugar per serving.
In 2021 Team NIU launched our #NIUKids campaign, which aims to add NIU to numerous restaurant chain's children's menus as a healthier and tastier alternative to sugary soda or regular ol' water!
As NIU continues to spread across the East Coast, I hope to introduce NIU to restaurant menus from Pittsburgh, PA to Newport, Rhode Island! The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow, so let's build them up, and fill them up, with all the tools they'll need to grow and succeed!
